We are deeply saddened to learn of the recent remains of 215 children discovered at the site of Kamloops Indian Residential School in Southern B.C. on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Territory. The findings released on May 27th shared the tragic discovery, acknowledging children as young as three years old included in these devastating findings.
As First Nations people we know this loss all too well. This discovery has brought us into a state of collective grieving, knowing that many of these children could be alive today, as beloved Elders in their Nation, passing their wisdom and knowledge down to new generations of children.
