Treaty One Territory, MB, June 6, 2019 – The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs’ First Nations Family Advocate Office (FNFAO) is hosting its four-year anniversary celebration on Friday, June 7, 2019 in Winnipeg to honour First Nations families for their strength and courage when dealing with the child welfare system.

The FNFAO will also release its four-year progress report, Always Think of the Little Ones, in dedication to the memory of Elders Elmer Courchene and Doris Pratt. The report will provide an overview of the work the FNFAO has undertaken which has impacted over 1,153 First Nation children’s lives. Such work includes the delivery of healing and wellness workshops to families, to children in care, and to youth who have aged out of care.

AMC invites all First Nations leadership, Elders, mothers, grandmothers and families to join the celebration.
